Estate reporting (J294)
Prepare and lodge the initial report of death with the Master’s Office, including notifications to SARS and creditors.
Letter of Executorship
Application, tracking, and collection. We queue so you don’t have to.
Liquidation & distribution accounts
Drafting L&D accounts, advertising notices, and responding to Master’s queries.
Section 18(3) estates
Small estate affidavits and streamlined reporting for estates under R250,000.
Will enquiries & copy requests
Checking the Will file, obtaining certified copies, and verifying testamentary validity.

All fees are fixed and quoted upfront. No hourly billing surprises. Disbursements (advertising, courier, Master’s fees) are passed through at cost.

Common questions

How long does the Letter of Executorship take?

Typically 4–8 weeks from lodgement, depending on the Master’s Office workload. We track weekly and escalate if delays exceed 10 weeks.

What if there is no Will?

We assist with intestate estate reporting under the Intestate Succession Act. The process is similar but requires additional heir affidavits and family tree verification.

Can you act as the executor?

Louwrens Koen Attorneys can be nominated as executor in the Will, or appointed by the Master if no executor is available. This is handled as a separate mandate with a commission-based fee structure.

Do I need to come to your office?

No. Most matters are handled remotely via email, WhatsApp, and courier. If you prefer an in-person consultation, our offices are at Loftus Versveld Stadium, Arcadia.
